How to add a user to Google Analytics

how to share google analytics accessIf your website has a Google Analytics tracking code installed, you are bound to have to share this data with another party at some point.

This other party might be a business partner that needs to keep an eye on website traffic, it could be your AdWords expert that needs to monitor goal conversions, or it might be your search optimization consultant monitoring the growth of your organic traffic.

Irrespective of who you need to share your Google Analytics data with, the steps remain the same.

Here are the steps to add another user to your Google Analytics account

Login to https://analytics.google.com/ with the account you want to share

Click on ADMIN at the bottom of the left hand menu (see screenshot below).

You will see three columns (Account, Property and View). Towards the top of the Account column, click on the User Management option (see screenshot below).

Click on the big blue plus sign, and in the Email Addresses section, enter the email address of the user you want to share your data with. I always check the Notify new users by email option, but you can choose not to (see screenshot below).

If you are working with us on a SEO campaign, we require all the boxes to be checked. If you are adding someone else to your Google Analytics, I recommend only giving them Read & Analyze permissions. Click on Add, and you are done!
