The Fine Print

No Contracts
I don’t believe in locking my clients in with a contract. I strictly work on a month-to-month basis. If you aren’t getting the results you expect, you fire me on the spot.

Payment upfront
Work only starts after payment is received. I like doing #SEO, I don’t like chasing down clients for payments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which package is the right option for me

Ideally this is something you and I should discuss after my initial investigation of your current standings in the search engines.

  • Basic: Ideal for businesses that provide services in a local area, think of a local plumber, a hair salon, or perhaps
  • Professional: Ideal for businesses that are servicing a larger area, for instance the whole of Pretoria. Think of accountants, landscape architects and dieticians.
  • Enterprise: Ideal for business servicing a provincial area, or perhaps even the entire country. Think of companies selling products online.

Please Note
The above guideline is exactly that, just a guideline. Imagine asking a builder how much it would cost to build a house. If the builder doesn’t know the exact size, the number of rooms, whether the house will be a single storey vs double storey, etc, the builder cannot give an accurate estimate.

In much the same way, each industry is different and has varying levels of competition. If there are big companies in your industry providing the same productservice, you have to keep in mind that to compete with them might come at a premium price.

Your best option is to send me an email requesting a telephone consultation for us to discuss. I can then do research into your industry, and provide you with an accurate quote.

How long before I see results?

This is a difficult question to answer. As a general rule, I suggest that we go for at least a 6 month campaign to ensure we get the results to grow your business.

Having said that, you will definitely see some positive movement within the first two months.

The timeframe can vary wildly on your industry and the competition levels. Think about a local plumber servicing a few suburbs versus a company selling medical aid.

For a local plumber, there is far less competitors. On top of that, chances are there are few other plumbers in his area doing SEO on their websites. This is what we call a low competition campaign.

For the company selling medical aid, you will be going up against some very big companies. Imagine what those companies are spending on marketing, you aren’t going to compete with them in the search engines unless you have deep pockets.

Please Note
If you have an established website, and have some decent on-page optimization with some links pointing to your site, you could see results faster than the 6 months I mention above.

What is the best way to determine if you have a solid foundation to start from?
Take your service, add the location you serve (e.g. plumber pretoria east). Do a Google search for the term, and see where your website is currently ranking.

If your website is ranking anywhere on page 1, 2 or 3, you can expect results much sooner than 3 months. If you can’t find your website, we need to lay a proper foundation which can take up to 6 months for us to see great results.

Why do you charge a setup fee?

Very few of the websites we start work on, is in prime condition for search engine optimization. I find that I need to make some minor changes to website layouts, setup landing pages with calls-to-action, create AdWords ads and campaigns, create retargeting ads, work on the loading time of a website, and occasionally we might even want to purchase a plugin or a theme.

The setup fee covers those initial costs that is made to get your site streamlined for the search engines.

What is a keyword?

A keyword is the search phrase you would like your website to rank well for.

Some examples of keywords:

  • plumber pretoria east
  • florist belville
  • emergency plumber westville
  • personal trainer
  • invoicing software

What is a landing page?

A landing page is a specific page on your website where you want your potential customers to land when they get to your website. For example, a landscaper might have a landing page for its “landscape design” service, and another separate landing page for its “water feature installation” service.

A good rule of thumb is that you should have specific landing pages for each of the services or products you are actively promoting.

What is a Call-to-Action (CTA)?

A call-to-action (or CTA for short) is a way to get your website visitors to take the next step in becoming a customer.

Some examples of CTA’s are:

  • Getting the visitor to call you
  • Getting the visitor to submit a quote request
  • Getting the visitor to sign up to your newsletter so you can alert them about special offers

What is an Email Autoresponder?

An email autoresponder is a software program that sends emails automatically to anyone that signs up to be on your newsletter.

This is a great method of marketing to drive repeat sales to existing customers.

For example, a company selling clothes can send out emails that are relevant to the season. During winter time, they can let customers know about new winter stock that has just arrived.

The real magic comes when you get a visitor to your website only once, but manage to capture his/her email address. Then you can keep marketing your products or services to that visitor for months, and perhaps years to come.

What is a blog calendar?

A blog calendar is a list of topics that I provide you with that will provide value to your visitors, but also help in ranking your site better in Google.

Although only one of roughly 200 ranking factors, Google prefer websites with fresh new content over websites that are updated less often.

This can be tricky in some industries, but there are always ways to keep content fresh.
